Stay Professional in Virtual Meetings

Teleconferencing? Use these etiquette tips.

Use the “Mute” button.  

Don’t complicate the conversation with excess noise. Unmute when you have something to say.
Alert others when you want to enter the conversation.  

To break into the conversation, say “Question” or “Excuse Me.”  Then wait a few seconds until you are sure you have the floor.


Remain actively involved.  

Just because they can’t see you doesn’t mean you can check the sports scores or answer e-mail. Be present!
